For more than two decades, my work has centered on strengthening organizations that serve others. Throughout my career in social work and nonprofit leadership, I have seen firsthand how mission-driven organizations can transform communities when they are built on a strong foundation of strategy, integrity, and wise stewardship.
A Nonprofit Life grew out of a simple belief: nonprofit leaders deserve practical guidance and thoughtful support as they work to build organizations that last. Through training, educational resources, and practical tools, my goal is to help founders, executive directors, and boards build strong, sustainable nonprofits that serve their communities well.
My professional background is rooted in social work, where ethical responsibility is not simply encouraged — it is foundational. I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Social Work, and that training continues to shape how I approach leadership, decision-making, and the work of mission-driven organizations.
Social work emphasizes integrity, accountability, and deep respect for the people and communities we serve. Those principles guide how I think about nonprofit governance, leadership strategy, and the systems organizations build to carry out their mission.
Over the years, I have worked alongside nonprofit organizations, faith-based initiatives, and community leaders, helping them strengthen governance structures, clarify strategy, and build organizations capable of lasting impact.

As technology continues to reshape how organizations work, nonprofit leaders are increasingly being asked to make decisions about tools that did not exist even a few years ago.
Because of my background in social work, I approach these conversations through the lens of ethics first. Technology should support human judgment — not replace it — and organizations must remain thoughtful stewards of the tools they adopt.
This perspective led me to develop the ETHICS AI Framework™, which helps nonprofit leaders think carefully about transparency, accountability, and mission-aligned innovation as they explore the use of artificial intelligence.
Rather than focusing on technology alone, my work focuses on helping leaders ask the right ethical questions before new tools are adopted. When organizations begin with a strong ethical foundation, innovation can support their mission rather than quietly reshape it.
Nonprofit leaders carry tremendous responsibility. They steward resources, guide teams, and serve communities that depend on the integrity of their work.
My goal through A Nonprofit Life is to provide practical guidance, thoughtful frameworks, and educational resources that help nonprofit leaders lead with clarity, confidence, and strong ethical foundations.
Strong organizations are not built by accident. They are built intentionally, with wisdom, integrity, and a deep commitment to the people they serve.
You may notice the two photos on this page look a little different from a traditional headshot — and include the original Gemini watermark. As part of my exploration of emerging AI tools, I created both images in less than a minute using a single photo of myself. I share this transparently because it illustrates how quickly these technologies are evolving and why nonprofit leaders benefit from understanding both the possibilities and the ethical considerations surrounding their use.
